Parents of freshmen high school students invited to forum focusing on transition
The North Kingstown High School PTSO will offer a Freshman Orientation Parent Forum on Monday, Aug. 28, at 5:30 p.m. at NKHS to help answer the many questions parents have about their students' first year of high school.
While freshman students are busy with their orientation activities, representatives will be available
to provide information for parents to help ease the high school transition experience. Among topics to be covered will be: a Club and Activity Tables, Electronic Portfolio, Guidance Services, Athletics and Booster Club, LINKS or Laymen in NK Schools, SELAC or Special Education Liaison Advisory Committee, Social Issues involving the role of freshman parents, Student Assistance Counseling, Student Resource Officer, Teen Task Force, and PTSO.
Refreshments will be served. Parents should take advantage of this opportunity to learn about NKHS and what it has to offer students and their families. Experts will be on hand to provide valuable information and answer any questions parents might have.
