Jamestown artists included in Newport museum show

For the first time in its six-year history, the Art League of Rhode Island will hold its annual members' exhibition in its founding city of Newport. The exhibit will be on view at the Newport Art Museum from Sept. 10 through Dec. 31 and will open on Saturday, Sept. 9, with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m.

The exhibit will feature over 80 pieces in a variety of media, including oil, watercolor, glass, photography, collagraph, encaustic, and mixed media. Jamestown

artists Cynthia Blair, Jeanne Bunkley, Duncan Laurie, Evelyn Thistle Rhodes, and Josey Wright will be five of the 76 Rhode Island artists to have their works on view.

The Newport Art Museum is located at 76 Bellevue Ave. Its hours are Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Visit newportartmuseum.com or artleagueri.org for more information.
