Monthly calls Jamestown tops for Democrats

"If you give money to the ACLU and the Sierra Club and yearn for the good ol' days when former Democratic Governor Bruce Sundlun was firing at raccoons and saving the day, then you'll find good company in Jamestown."

So says Rhode Island Monthly magazine, which lists Jamestown as the best place for "The Donkey" to live.

The article in the September issue gives a town-by-town profile of what type of residents you'll likely encounter. Other communities the magazine pigeonholed into a particular demographic include Burrillville for "The Solitude Seeker," Coventry for "The First-Time Homebuyer," and East Greenwich for being the town where all the Elephants (Republicans) roam. Pawtucket made the list as being the place for "The Hipster." About Jamestown, the magazine says that there are twice as many registered Dems as Republicans, and that we hold the record for most "Kerry/Edwards" bumper stickers on our Volvo cars.
