Drunk driving charged

+ Alexander Belyaev, 24, of West Warwick was charged Sept. 3 with drunk driving after police found him stopped at the Newport Bridge toll plaza with a blown tire.

This is Belyaev's third drunkdriving charge, police said, adding that he refused to take a Breathalyzer test and was driving with a revoked license.

He is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 8 for the refusal charge and Oct. 12 for the remaining charges, police said.

+ Selvin L. Gomez, 23, of Newport was charged with drunk driving and refusing to take a Breathalyzer test Sept. 3 after a traffic stop on Route 138.

Gomez is scheduled for a Sept. 15 pre-trial in Newport District Court, police said.

Picked up on warrant

Michael J. Thibaudeau, 47, of Central Falls was picked up by the Lincoln police force on a Jamestown warrant from 2005.

He is due to appear Sept. 8 in Newport District Court, police said.

Fighting on West Street

Shawn Lathan, 24, and a 17year-old male were observed fighting on West Street Aug. 30 and charged with disorderly conduct.

The juvenile was turned over to family court, police said. Lathan is scheduled for a Sept. 8 appearance in Newport District Court, according to police.

Court news

+ Orn Neth, 48, of Fall River, Mass., pleaded no contest Sept. 1 to a charge of driving with a suspended license. He was fined $250. A charge of possessing marijuana was dismissed under court rule 48A by the solicitor, police said.

+ Navy Tep, 20, of Fall River had a charge of possession of marijuana dismissed Sept. 1 under court rule 48 A.

+ Ryan Toole, 23, of North Kingstown pleaded no contest to a charge of driving with a suspended license Sept. 1. He was fined $250 and his license was reinstated, police said.
