Youth soccer fund-raiser a great success

The Jamestown Soccer Association held its 2006 Glow Ball Golf Tournament last Friday on a brisk, starry night at the Jamestown Golf Course.

The tournament is held annually by JSA as a fund-raiser for the JSA player scholarship program

and other soccer-related program expenses. We had a great turnout with plenty of spectacular golfing taking place out on the course, or so it was reported afterwards back in the clubhouse.

Winners included a first-place tie between foursomes led by Steve Froberg and Randy Shoemaker, as well as the Course Master prize awarded to the John Kelly and Tom DeTour group.

The glow ball golf event is a great opportunity to raise money and have some fun at the same time. The JSA would like to thank Harriet Mistowski and the rest of the folks at Jamestown golf for being such great hosts for the tournament. We would also like to thank Jamestown Fitness, Grapes & Gourmet, Soccer Spot of Narragansett, Bay Voyage Inn, Trattoria Simpatico, Jamestown Wine & Spirits, Newport Sportsman's Club, and the Jamestown Golf Course for their donations of the excellent tournament prizes. We hope to see everyone back again next year!

Clayton Carlisle, the Jamestown Soccer

Association
