Illustration exhibit at Audubon center
The Audubon Society of Rhode Island and the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators will jointly present "From Observation to Illustration," beginning Sunday, Oct. 29, at the Audubon Society Environmental Education Center in Bristol.
The exhibition features work by guild-member artists from throughout New England who render beautiful and scientifically accurate illustrations of the natural world. The exhibit will run through Jan. 26, 2007.
The opening reception for "From Observation to Illustration" will be held on Sunday, Oct. 29, from 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and feature a Technique Showcase, from 2 to 3 p.m. by artists who will demonstrate watercolor, carbon dust, and etching techniques. The regular admission fee will be waived for the opening reception.
The exhibition is free with the price of admission to the Environmental Education Center, which is $6 for adults, $4 for children. Kids under 4 get in free, as do ASRI members.
