Lecture on Internet safety offered

The Women's Resource Center of Newport and Bristol Counties is sponsoring a lecture on Internet safety Wednesday, Oct. 25, at the Newport Public Library.

The lecture is part of the Domestic Violence Dialogue Lecture Series, held during October, which is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The lecture will be given by Dr. Lawrence Filippelli, principal of Scituate Middle School, and an adjunct professor at Johnson and Wales University. He will discuss issues relating to the risks of unsupervised access to the Internet by children and adolescents, focusing on Web sites such as myspace.com and facebook.com.
