Irene E. (Caisse) Johnson, 93
Irene E. Johnson, 93, formerly of Leominster, Mass., and a summer resident of Jamestown, died Oct. 3, 2006 in the Oak Lee Nursing Home in Harrisonburg Va., after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was the wife of the late Leonard T. Johnson, who died in 1996.
Born in Leominster on Jan. 19, 1913, a daughter of Dennis and Edith (Menard) Caisse, she had moved to Harrisonburg in 1987.
Mrs. Johnson was a licensed practical nurse and had worked as a charge nurse at the James Manor Nursing Home in Fitchburg, Mass. She was an avid organic gardener and animal advocate. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Fitchburg, Mass.
She was the beloved mother to two daughters, Phyllis L Bedard Johnson of Jamestown and Martha E. Vinglas of Huddleston, Va., and a son, Robert L. Johnson of Lunenburg, Mass. She also leaves her brother, Jerry Caisse, and sister, Louse (Caisse) Fournier, both of Leominster Mass., and four grandchildren, Shari L. Johnson Kamataris of Leominster, Brent R. Johnson of Lunenburg, Robert Vinglas of Chattanooga, Tenn., Richard N. Vinglas, M.D, of Bozeman, Mont., and a greatgrandson, Ian R, Vinglas of Bozeman.
Her funeral was held on Oct. 9 in Leominster, and she was buried in Evergreen Cemetery in Leominster.
