Drunk driving reported

+ Lucas J. Cimaglia, 26, of Newport was charged Nov. 18 with driving under the influence after an accident on the Jamestown Bridge in which Cimaglia rear-ended another vehicle.

He was also charged with refusing to take a Breathalyzer test, police said.

Cimaglia is due to appear Nov. 24 in Newport District Court, according to police.

+ Robert B. Rice, 53, of 220 Conanicus Ave. was charged Nov. 15 with drunk driving after witnesses saw him driving erratically on Narragansett Ave.

Rice refused to take a Breathalyzer test, police said.

He is due to appear Dec. 1 in Newport District Court, according to police.

License violation charged

Julio Ortiz, 26, of Newport was charged Nov. 19 with driving without a license after a traffic stop on Route 138.

Ortiz is scheduled to appear Nov. 24 in Newport District Court, police said.

Tools stolen

A contractor reported Nov. 17 that several tools were taken from his truck parked on Clinton Avenue.

Missing were masonry hammers, points, a tape measure, and other items worth about $300, police said.
