Basketball clinic was fun
Last Sunday over 40 Jamestown girls participated in a clinic run by one of Rhode Island's most legendary basketball players, Christina Batastini. I want to thank Christina for donating her time to share her love and knowledge of the game with our girls.
I also want to thank the town of Jamestown for providing us with the Lawn Ave gymnasium.
The girls had tons of fun learning the basics of passing, dribbling, shooting, and defense. Christina shared her stories of how she started out as a young girl in Providence playing basketball for recreational and CYO teams, and how basketball provided
her the opportunity to play for Stanford and travel around the world as a professional. For more information on Christina's clinics and camps visit www. batschoolofbasketball.com.
'Tis the basketball season, so any girl or boy who wants to play basketball this winter in Jamestown should visit www. jamestownri.net/rec for details and to download a registration form. I also want to thank assistant coaches, Katie Bednarczyk, Nancy Heidt, Eloise Heath, Danielle Perez, John Rafanelli, and Allison Smith for their help at the clinic.
