Wickford Festival of Lights

Friday, Dec. 1

5:30-6:30 p.m., Holiday Display Contest winners announced on Channel 10 news, broadcasting from the Town Dock. Acapella Gold carols throughout the village.

6 p.m., Santa arrives at the Town Dock aboard the Sea Princess, led by kayaks from the Kayak Center.

6-7:30 p.m., Live nativity at St. Paul's Church on Main Street performed by the youth groups.

6-8 p.m., Local author Kathy Kaye appears at Wilson's of Wickford signing her newest book, "A Cat named Soufflé," a heart-warming story of a rescued feral cat as told by himself.

6:30-8 p.m., Hayrides with Santa around the village, beginning in the parking lot by the Town Dock ($2 per person).

6:30-7:30 p.m., The North Kingstown Community Chorus carols in Updike Park with a holiday performance by the North Kingstown High School Dance Team at 7 p.m.

Most Wickford shops will be open until 9 p.m.

Saturday, Dec. 2

8 to 11 a.m., Breakfast with Santa at the North Kingstown Community Center on Beach Street ($10 per adult, $5 kids 12 and under).

Noon-4 p.m., Wilson's of Wickford hosts a book signing with local author Kathy Kaye. (See Dec. 1 description).

12:30 p.m., Santa arrives at the Town Dock aboard the Sea Princess escorted by kayaks.

1-4 p.m., Hayrides with Santa from the parking lot at the Town Dock. Music by the Parallel String Band.

3:15-4 p.m., The Ladies of the Rolling Pin, an exuberant Border Morris dance team, perform with live music at Updike Park.

7:30 p.m., North Kingstown Community Chorus and Youth Chorus Winter Concert at North Kingstown High School.

Sunday, Dec. 3

Noon-4 p.m., Wilson's of Wickford hosts a book signing with local author Kathy Kaye. (See Dec. 1 description).

12:30 p.m., Santa arrives at the Town Dock aboard the Sea Princess escorted by kayaks.

1-4 p.m., Hayrides with Santa from the parking lot at the Town Dock. Music by the Parallel String Band.

2 p.m., The North Kingstown High School Dance Team performs at Updike Park.
