Town Hall Records
      The following construction permits were filed recently in Town Hall: Building permits Lawrence McDonald received a permit Nov. 27 to replace a deck at 90 Reservoir Circle, work estimated to cost $4,000. Donna Drago received a permit Nov. 27 to replace 21 windows with energy-efficient ones at 44 Walcott Ave., work estimated to cost $19,786.

Court news
      Dispositions in Newport District Court Nov. 3 • Samuel Baugh, 53, of 73 Carr Lane pleaded no contest to a charge of drunk driving. He was given a five-month loss of license, sentenced to 20 hours of community service, and ordered to attend drunk-driving school.

Fire & EMS runs
      Fire runs 10:22 a.m., Nov. 27, Car 1 and Engine 1 went to Spanker Street for a faulty alarm. 4:46 a.m., Nov. 30, Marine 1 and Car 2 were dispatched to Route 138 westbound to assist the EMS crew. 7:00 p.m., Nov. 30, all units turned out for a training drill at the fire station.

Police Log
      Arrested on domestic assault, drunk driving Norma C. Ibarlucea, 48, of 1 Spanker St. was charged Dec. 1 with domestic assault after the victim called police to report the incident. Ibarlucea grabbed the ear of the victim, causing a slight injury, for which the victim did not seek treatment, police said.

      Town Councilman Michael Schnack took exception to a story in last week's Press that might give the impression that he is against putting the teen center at the Community Center. Written by Dotti Farrington, the article said that Schnack "balked about officially authorizing any town teen center.
