Horton wins frostbite contest
Frostbiters got another sunny day in the 40s for sailing on Sunday. After 20 minutes of no wind and drifting north to the bridge on a strong incoming tide, a light southwesterly filled in.
Race Committee Dick Allphin and Isabelle Coyle set up a windward/ leeward course off of the SE corner of the Conanicut Marina pier. Wind shifts off of the shore created race leaders on the left side of the course and then the right side - which kept the racing close.
Five races were held. John Horton was low scorer for the day with 9 points. John Quinn was second with 11 points, Joe Logan third with 15 points, Jack Hubbard fourth with 17 points. Terry Jones fifth with 23 points.
