Aram DerManouelian, 67

Aram DerManouelian, 67, of East Shore Road died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2006 at home. He was the beloved husband of Jo-Ann (Farias) DerManouelian.

Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Hairabed and Azadouhi (Bedrosian) DerManouelian, he lived in Providence and later Warwick, before moving to Jamestown in 1977.

He was founder and president of both American Foam Corporation in Johnston and National Velour Corporation in Warwick for many years. He also was the owner and developer of Portsmouth Industrial Park in Portsmouth and Omni Park in Middletown.

Mr. DerManouelian gave humanitarian support to Armenian causes locally, nationally, and internationally as well as many other charities and organizations.

He was a wild bird enthusiast who collected and bred exotic birds and ducks. He also was a member of the Rhode Island Zoological Society.

In 1968, Mr. DerManouelian joined Orpheus Lodge, now affiliated with Thomas Smith Webb Lodge #43 F.&A.M. of Cranston. An avid yachtsman, he was a member of the Newport Yacht Club and the Newport Chamber of Commerce.

Besides his loving wife, he was the devoted father of Greg DerManouelian of Jamestown, stepfather of Lawrence Camara of Pawtucket and Alfred Camara of Orland, Fla., and the dear brother of Oscar Der- Manouelian of Warwick and the late Michael DerManouelian. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, and grandchildren.

The funeral service was held on Monday in Sts. Vartanantz Armenian Apostolic Church, Providence, followed by interment in North Burial Ground Cemetery, Providence.
