Blankets on sale at Watson Farm

Watson Farm in Jamestown is selling natural, hand-spun wool blankets made from its own sheep.

The “Conanicut Island Blanket,” is available in both queen size and as a lap throw. It would make the perfect gift for someone who loves to cozy up to a fire on a cold winter day.

Also available this year is the “Rhody Warm Blanket,” which is made from the wool from several area farms.

Don and Heather Minto of the Watson Farm in Jamestown participated in this statewide initiative to create a beautiful blanket with wool from Rhode Island sheep farms. This project is a joint effort of the state Resource Conservation & Development Area Council, the state Department of Environmental Management’s Division of Agriculture, and the RI Sheep Co-operative.

For more information about purchasing these locally-grown wool blankets at Watson Farm, contact Heather or Don Minto at 423-0005.

Purchasing the blankets helps support the sustainability of local farms.
