Visit the Godspeed replica in Newport next month

A replica of the 17th-century ship Godspeed will visit the Newport Yachting Center for tours and events the week of July 25 to 30.

The ship is making land at ports on the East Coast in celebration of the 400th anniversary of the founding of America's first permanent settlement, Jamestown, Va. The Godspeed carried the original settlers from England to Jamestown.

All events and tours conducted in period costumes are free and they will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
