Newport Hopital offers free prostate screenings

The best defense against advanced prostate cancer is early detection. It is recommended that at-risk populations be screened yearly. Throughout the month of September, Newport Hospital will offer free prostate cancer screenings.

Men 40 to 75 years old are encouraged to call to see if they meet free screening guidelines and to book an appointment. Thirty-five to 75 year old men who are African American or Hispanic or have a family history of prostate cancer, are also encouraged to be screened due to the high-risk of prostate cancer among this population. To schedule an appointment, call the Lifespan Health Connection at 444-4800 or 800-927-1230.
