Drunk driving charged

Steven T. Marguette, 19, of North Kingstown was charged Aug. 12 with drunk driving and refusing to take a Breathalyzer test after a call came in to the police station reporting that Marguette had left a party intoxicated and was driving away.

Marguette was found on Route 138, traveling at 30 miles per hour and swerving, police said.

He is due to appear Sept. 1 in Newport District Court, police said.

License charges

+ Ryan Toole, 23, of North Kingstown was charged Aug. 13 with driving with a suspended license after he was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 138.

Toole is scheduled to appear Sept. 1 in Newport District Court, according to police.

+ John R. Kaiser, 40, of North Kingstown was charged Aug. 12 with driving with a suspended license after a traffic stop on North Main Road.

He is due to appear Aug. 18 in Newport District Court, police said.

+ Ricardo Alfaro, 24, of Providence was charged with driving without a license after a traffic stop on East Shore Road.

Alfaro is due in court Aug. 18, police said.

Vandalism reported + A man from Clarke Street told police Aug. 12 that witnesses saw someone tampering with his car, but no damage could be found, police said.

+ An America Way resident reported Aug. 10 that several items had been thrown around the deck of the house, including furniture and plants.

+ A Seaside Drive resident told police Aug. 9 that his mailbox was damaged.

A resident of Top O the Mark told police Aug. 9 that his mailbox was stolen.
