Peace topic of art symposium Hera Gallery in Wakefield will present a "Symposium for Waging Peace," on Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m. The symposium coincides with the gallery's current exhibition, Waging Peace, and will explore the role of artists and the arts in general, in this politically charged time. The panel is made up of moderator Anne Rocheleau, founder and creative director of Spaces for Peace; Paul Broches, president of Architects, Designers, Planners for Social Responsibility/ NY and a partner at Mitchell- Giurgola Architects in New York City; Pamela Steager, an educator who received her masters of arts degree from the United Nations University of Peace in Costa Rica; Susan Masket, an art educator, environmental activist, and one of the artists in Waging Peace; and Molly Little, an undergraduate student at Brown University and peace activist. This program is presented with partial support from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, Hera Educational Foundation, and the Friends of Hera. Admission is free and open to the public. Parking is available. |
