Drunk driving charged

+ Kevin R. Gormley, 34, of North Kingstown was charged Oct. 15 with drunk driving after a traffic stop for swerving on North Main Road and refused to take a Breathalyzer test.

Gormley is due to appear in Newport District Court Oct. 27 for a pre-trial hearing, police said. He will have a hearing on the Breathalyzer refusal Oct. 20, police added.

+ Amanda B. Allen, 24, of Kingston was charged with drunk driving after an Oct. 13 traffic stop on North Main Rd. Police said Allen slowed abruptly and crossed the center line. She is scheduled to appear Oct. 27 in Newport District Court, police said.
