Chorus readies for holiday season

The Jamestown Community Chorus is midway through rehearsals for their annual holiday concerts. This year they will be performed at the Central Baptist Church, 99 Narragansett Ave., on Sat., Dec. 9, at 7:30 p.m., and on Sun., Dec. 10, at 3 p.m.

The choral program titled "Our Holiday Favorites" will include such selections as "The Best of Rooms" by Randall Thompson, "Lullay My Liking" by Gustav Holst, "Worthy is the Lamb" by George Frederick Handel, "This Little Babe" by Benjamin Britten, and "Blow, Blow Thou Winter Wind" by John Rutter, to name a few.

Some of the traditional Christmas and seasonal carols include "White Christmas," "I Saw Three Ships," "The Christmas Song," "A Child is Born in Bethlehem," "Coventry Carol," and a special a cappella arrangement of "Silent Night" by Malcolm Sargent.

Tickets for the concerts will be available in November.
