Library hosts bone density scanning

The Friends of Jamestown Library will host a free bone density scanning at the library on Monday, Nov. 13, from noon to 2 p.m. in the library museum room.

Lifespan Services will provide personnel and equipment for this important program that is free and open to the public.

This is a quick and easy test to see if people are in danger of developing osteoporosis. Both men and women are advised to attend. Women should wear socks not stockings so that their heels can be easily accessed.

Refreshments will be served and information on diet and lifestyle changes that can positively affect osteoporosis will also be available. Library staff will be available to show attendees how to use the Internet to find the most up-to-date information on health issues.
