Contra dance in Newport

A Community Contra Dance will be held Saturday, Jan. 13, from 8. to 11 p.m. in Fenner Hall, at 15 Fenner Ave.in Newport.

The dance is open to all ages and no partner or experience is necessary. Admission costs $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and students. Young children are free. Beginners and experienced dancers are welcome, and no partner is necessary.

All dances will be taught by a caller Dan Pearl, and the music is live and provided by Jonathan Larkin and Amy Richardson Larkin. Attendees should bring soft-soled shoes. Light refreshments will be provided at the break.
