Mansions offer music, lectures this winter
The Preservation Society of Newport County will sponsor a full calendar of educational and fund-raising events in 2007.
The Story of Chateau-sur-Mer in Historic Photographs will be given on Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Preservation Society offices, 424 Bellevue Ave., at 11 a.m.
Architectural historian John R. Tschirch and Linda Eppich, consulting archivist, will give a rare glimpse at a unique series of photographs of Chateau-sur-Mer from 1850 to 1920 - documenting the evolution of the house and grounds.

+ A Musical Evening at the Breakers will take place on Saturday, Feb. 17, at the Breakers, from 5 to 7 p.m.
This event offers a rare opportunity to tour the Breakers after hours. Tickets cost $15 in advance for society members, $20 at the door. Admission for non-members is $20 in advance, $25 at the door, or $20 at the door with a Newport Winter Festival button.
