Meat farmers to gather Feb. 6
The Rhode Island Raised Meat Association will host a meeting at the Elks Lodge, 42 Nooseneck Hill Rd.in West Greenwich on Tuesday, Feb. 6. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for registration and coffee with the meeting beginning at 7 p.m.
This meeting is for all farmers who raise or would like to raise any class of livestock, including beef cattle, hogs, sheep, goats, rabbits, and poultry.
The Rhode Island Raised Meat Association's mission is "to promote and ensure the preservation of our agricultural lands, our rural economy, and our agrarian way of life by creating an organization that will secure a viable infrastructure and provide for the efficient and sustainable production, processing, and marketing of quality, value added, locally produced meats in the state of Rhode Island."
Farmers from throughout the state are asked to join Rhode Island Raised association for the evening to learn about how this group can work together to help solve some of the problems all farmers face as producers.
