      Small towns can have their issues: pettiness, misunderstandings, and hurt feelings come to mind. I, however, want to say something about the joys of living in a small community. My husband, Bruce, loved being in a small community. As the eighth-grade math teacher, he loved seeing his students on the street, at the House of Pizza or at play practice.

      As many of you are aware, budget season for the town is rapidly approaching, with the Town Council and School Committee discussing the 2007-2008 budget throughout February and March.

      I'd like to thank the Jamestown Shores residents who attended the Jan. 8 Town Council meeting and voiced their opposition to the proposed parking restrictions that would have limited access to the Shores beach.
