West talks politics at art museum
Darrell West, the John Hazen White Professor of Political Science and Public Policy and the director of the Taubman Center for Public Policy at Brown University, will assess the state and national political outlook heading into the elections during the "Art of Politics: The Political Landscape of 2007-2008" on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m.
West has given talks in several countries around the world. He is a frequent commentator on media and elections and has been quoted in major newspapers such as the New York Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune, Providence Journal, and Los Angeles Times, and also on National Public Radio, MSNBC, CSPAN, the Today Show, O'Reilly Factor, Hardball, NBC Nightly News, and ABC World News.
This is the fourth of eight winter lectures that will take place on consecutive Saturday afternoons at the Newport Art Museum. The cost of each lecture is $5 for museum members and $10 for nonmembers and includes a tea reception after the lecture. Arrive early, as seating is limited.
