Theresa A. Rybar, 93

Theresa A. "Tessie" Rybar, 93, of Seaside Drive, formerly of Bradenton, Fla., and the Love Lane section of Warwick, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007 at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Rybar.

Born in Bridgeport, Conn., a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Hudicek) Buypal, she had been a resident of Jamestown for 36 years, wintering in Bradenton, Fla., for 24 years.

Mrs. Rybar is remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She had a great devotion to her family and friends and truly enjoyed cooking and entertaining.

She had been a founding member of the former Hillsgrove PTA and an avid bowler. She took great joy in crafts, such as the creation of centerpieces and mirrors adorned with rosettes made from coquina shells that she gathered in Florida. She also crocheted and knitted many beautiful items. She once made a grand afghan of the bicentennial flag in 1976 for her grandson. These labors of love personify Theresa's genuine altruistic nature.

She is survived by her daughter, Maryann B. Duggan of Jamestown; her brother, Frank Buypal Jr. of Shelton, Conn.; her grandchildren, Mark C. Duggan and his wife, Suzanne of Palm City, Fla.; Hilary E. Brunelle and her husband, Stephen of Ashland, Mass.; John M. Duggan of Jamestown and great-granddaughter, Shannon N. Duggan, also of Palm City. She was the sister of the late Margaret Giannatasio, Mary Kekacs, Elizabeth Burum, Jennie Hmursik, Martha Buypal, Bertha Buypal, and David Buypal.

Her funeral was Monday from the Russell J. Boyle and Son Funeral Home, 142 Centerville Road, Warwick.Burial was in Glenwood Cemetery, East Greenwich.
