Kids can learn to make terrariums
Kids are invited to a workshop on making terrariums at Blithewold on Saturday, Feb. 10, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the greenhouse.
Being in the greenhouse is what makes this workshop at Blithewold special. Blithewold horticulturalist Gail Read will help kids explore, learn, and best of all: get down and dirty regardless of the weather outdoors.
The workshop will introduce kids to greenhouses, terrariums, and the connections between soil, plants, climate, and water. Participants will make their own terrariums to take home. Kids can add their own touch by personalizing their terrarium with cool decorations. Best of all, the fun will continue at home as they watch their terrariums change over time.
This workshop is recommended for kids 8 to 10 years old. All materials will be provided. Parking will be available at the greenhouse. Preregistration is required, and costs $20 for Blithewold members and $25 for non-members. Call 253-2707, ext. 21, or visit www.blithewold.org to register.
