The board will be reorganizing itself to take on this work, and establishing committees of community members to tackle some immediate tasks: Space & Building, starting now to evaluate potential sites and develop recommendations; Art Program & Operation, to plan and develop unique programs to serve local public interests; Finance & Fundraising, to secure an initial development grant, and develop and execute a fund-raising plan; and, Membership, to include more art appreciators, artists, artisans, businesses, and friends.
What talents can you contribute? Please contact Kate Petrie at 423-9684, or katepetrie@cox.net.
+ For a summary of the initial CIAA development plan, please visit our Web site, www.ciaa@ jamestownri.com, or contact Jocelyn Donaghue at 423-3297 or djdonaghue@yahoo.com for a printed copy. Also contact Joce about membership.
An Arts Center at Fort
Wetherill?
We will keep you posted about our request to the Town Council. The site itself may or may not prove feasible for our use, for a variety of reasons, but the request is an important start.
Art Classes
Contact katepetrie@cox.net if you can teach a CIAA-sponsored art or craft class through the Jamestown parks & recreation department, or contribute to the ongoing after-school art workshops at the Lawn Avenue School.
