Cartoonist to speak this Saturday

Illustrator and painter Jim Bush, an editorial cartoonist for the Providence Journal and co-author of the book "Is Social Security Broke? A Cartoon Guide to the Issues" will review over a decade of work pillorying local and national figures and events in The Art of the Political Cartoon: Editorial Cartooning in the State of Rhode Island on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. at the Newport Art Museum.

Bush has been turning the issues of the day into "cartoon" statements for the Providence Journal since 1994. Nationally, his cartoons have appeared in the Washington Post, National Weekly Edition, the Dallas Morning News, and he has also drawn for Tribune Media Services College Press Syndicate. He has annually, Since 1994, Bush has annually been included in the publication the Best Editorial Cartoons of the Year.
