Jamestown 350th anniversary committee seeks volunteers
This year marks the 350th anniversary of the Jamestown Land Agreement, when Conanicut Island was purchased from the Native Americans by the colonists, and the organizers of the celebration committee are looking for volunteers.
The first meeting of the committee will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 22, at the Jamestown library.
The celebration committee is being formed to plan a week-long series of events for August to commemorate the anniversary.
There is no need to RSVP. All volunteers are welcome.
