Jamestowner at Moses Brown School honored for Spanish essay
Islander Grace Smith-Vidaurre, a senior at the Moses Brown School, has been recognized by the Rhode Island Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese for her essay written in Spanish.
For the fifth year in a row, the teachers' association challenged students from public and private schools throughout the state who are enrolled in upper-level Spanish courses to write a well-developed essay in Spanish. Exemplary essays were then recognized in three categories of achievement: superior, excellent, and notable. Smith-Vidaurre's essay was judged superior.
