+ Joseph Mendelsohn, 18, of 29 Marine Ave. pleaded of no contest to a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol with a Breathalyzer test of .15 or greater at a Feb. 2 pre-trial hearing in Newport District Court. Mendelsohn was also charged with driving without a license. He was sentenced to 40 hours of community service and a four-month loss of license. He must also attend drunk-driving school and pay court costs and a $500 fine, according to the court report.
+ Todd Messinger, 32, of 77 Cole St. was arraigned Feb. 2 in Newport District Court for driving after denial of a suspended license. The charges were dismissed and his license was re-instated, according to the court report.
