Margaret Bentley, 85
Margaret "Peg" Bentley, 85, of Newport, formerly of Barefoot Bay, Fla.,and a longtime Jamestown resident died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Annie (Cahir) Ryan and the "pitiful old widow" of Bob Gillerin and Walter Bentley.
Peg was an LPN who worked at Kent Hospital for three years and South County Hospital for 22 years before retiring and moving to Florida, where she worked at nursing for seven years. She was a member of the Barefoot Bay Poetry Club and volunteered for the Sebastian Medical Center and many support groups. Peg was also a beloved friend and patron of Winn Dixie and Pool 2 of Barefoot Bay.
She is survived by two sons, Ted Gillerin of Jamestown and Tim Bentley of Orlando, Fla.; a daughter, Beth Reynolds of Newport; and two stepchildren, Bruce "Goose" Bentley of West Greenwich and Lynne Page of Cranston.
Peg was the grandmother of the late Ryan Reynolds. She is also survived by eight other grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral was held Feb. 10, at St. Mark's Church in Jamestown.
