Sargent painting topic of lecture

Dr. Erica E. Hirshler will close the eight-week Winter Lecture Series with her "Cora Lee Gibbs Lecture" on the subject of John Singer Sargent and "The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit" on Saturday, Feb. 24, at 2 p.m.

"The Daughters of Edward Darley Boit," painted in Paris by John Singer Sargent in 1882, features the daughters of Edward Darley Boit, a fellow expatriate American Painter. Hirshler is the Croll Senior Curator of Paintings, Art of the Americas at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.

The cost of the lecture, $5 for museum members and $10 for nonmembers, includes a reception after the lecture. Attendees should arrive early, as seating is limited.
