Baseball registration still underway

Players can register for baseball early by picking up forms at the Recreation Center or at Baker's Pharmacy. Forms can also be downloaded at http://www.jamestownri.com/.

Live registrations will occur as follows: today, Thursday, Feb. 22, and Wednesday, Feb. 28. These sign-ups will be held at the recreation center from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Both boys and girls can play, and their ages must range from 5 through 12, on April 30. Copies of birth certificates are desired at registration and will be required during the week of April 23.

Tryouts for major leagues, ages 9 through 12, and boys Babe Ruth, ages 13 through 15, will be held on Saturday, April 7. Major league tryouts will start at 8:15 a.m., Babe Ruth will start at 9:30 a.m. Opening day is scheduled for Saturday, April 28.

The following important deadlines should be noted. Babe Ruth registrations are due by Friday, March 23. Major league registrations are due by Friday, March 30. All other age group registrations are due by Friday, April 20.

The next baseball committee meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 14, at 7 p.m. at the police station. Jamestown baseball will need several adults to serve in various positions such as concession stand coordinator, instructional league coordinator, instructional league managers/ coaches, and other positions.
