Three class-A ships added to tall ships festival

Amica Insurance Tall Ships Rhode Island 2007 has announced that three more Class A tall ships have been added to the festival.

Organizers have released the final ship lineup for this summer's event, which will fill Newport Harbor with masts.

The new ships are all Class A's and include: Gloria, a 249-foot barque from Colombia; Prince William, a 195-foot brig from London; and Dewa Ruci, a 191-foot barque from Indonesia. They join 19 other tall ships from around the world for a total of 22.

The Tall Ships festival, a salute to sail training and sea education, will take place all along Newport's waterfront and across the harbor at Fort Adams' large piers from June 27 to July 1. Ship visiting is free to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend.

Amica Mutual Insurance Company, the nation's oldest mutual insurer of automobiles, was founded in 1907 and looks forward to celebrating its centennial in conjunction with the tall ships.
