      My name is Caty Schnack. I am a seventh grade student at Lawn Avenue School. I was recently interviewed and accepted to participate as a member of the "People to People Student Ambassador Program" to Australia this summer.       Contrary to Mr. Ianetta's recent letter, and for the record, as town administrator at the time, I originally proposed to the Jamestown Town Council that Lot 47 adjacent to the landfill be purchased for the specific purpose of locating and constructing a new highway garage.

Island no longer for the working class
      I am writing in response to Mr. Salvatore's letter on affordable housing. I was raised in Jamestown. My wife's father was born and raised in Jamestown and he raised his children in Jamestown. Back then, if you grew up here you could buy a house and raise your family here. I am very offended by Mr. Salvatore's remark that if you work hard you can live here. NOT ANY MORE. Everything has changed.
