Free tax assistance for the elderly available
Free tax assistance will be provided to older taxpayers as well as low-income people through the Tax Counseling for the Elderly program.
This free, confidential, one-onone income tax assistance, including E-filing, will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Jamestown library through April 16.
Taxpayers who wish to use this service should bring this year's as well as last year's tax materials with them.
Since last year, the free tax assistance program has lost half of its certified Tax Aide volunteers. Anyone who would like to learn more about this should go see the volunteers while they are at the library. They need help.
