Scholarship offers opportunity for civic-minded women
Women living in Newport County who need financial assistance to pursue education or job training could benefit from a Miss Swinburne Scholarship. The Miss Swinburne Fund, administered by The Rhode Island Foundation, is seeking scholarship applications until April 20, 2007.
In the past four years, the fund has awarded 49 scholarships totaling more than $100,000.
Scholarships will be awarded for direct support of course fees/ tuition and/or for assistance with support services directly linked to educational goals. Preference will be given to highly motivated women who are seeking further education or training to become self-supporting.
