Janet Pinsonneault, 66

Janet Pinsonneault, 66, of Jamestown died unexpectedly on March 14 at Newport Hospital where she was given very capable and kind care.

She was the daughter of the late Patrick and Kathryn (Patt) Pinsonneault of Smithfield. She is survived by her sister and brotherin law, Joan and Donald Burns of Smithfield, and her two nephews, Dominic and Michael.

Jan had a group of loving and supportive friends including Don Hunt, Win Reed, Erin Van Reen and others in the Jamestown community.

Jan was a 1962 RISD graduate and spent her working career as a potter. In later years, her creativity in other artistic mediums had time to blossom. Following in the footsteps of her father, she was proud to earn her private pilot's license, but she didn't crash her plane!

Jan's taste was impeccable. What she planted, grew; what she built was solid. She was as wellread a person as you could hope to meet. Jan was kind to her nephews. She dearly loved the New England Patriots and we learned to never disturb her during a game. Jan had a sharp eye for antiques and found many 'treasures'. Her kitty, Gracie, was adored and spoiled.

Our little Jan was a quiet person who enjoyed people in small groups. She did not attend funerals and we will respect her wishes and have no funeral. Those of us who loved Jan will mourn her as we go on together with life without her. She will be missed enormously.

Donations in Jan's memory may be made to a place that gave her joy and enrichment, The Jamestown Philomenian Library, 26 North Road, Jamestown, RI 02835. For messages of condolence visit www.andersonwinfield. net.
