Club members take blue ribbons

Quononoquott Garden Club members took several blue ribbons at the Federation of Garden Club's "Art in the Garden" in the Rhode Island Spring Garden and Flower Show at the Providence Convention Center, February 22 through February 24.

Jillian Barber, won a blue ribbon in the "Jewelry Design" class, and a blue ribbon for overall best in the "Applied Arts" Division for her creation of a chameleon-like necklace. The plant material she used for this piece of jewelry included dried peas for the eyes, red onion skins for the scales, and arborvitae for the toes.

Jillian Meyer, club vice president, took a blue ribbon in the "Fashion Design" class.
