Noah Simmons' poster design for the National AAA Safety poster contest won third place for the state of Rhode Island. Noah is a third grade student at the Melrose school. He designed his poster with the visual arts teacher, Jan Kraus, during the after school art club program. More...

The Jamestown Teen Center will have a permanent home at the Jamestown Community Center due to a $50,000 Youth Opportunity grant from the Newport County Fund of The Rhode Island Foundation. Rabies clinic at fire station this Saturday The Town of Jamestown will conduct a Rabies Vaccination Clinic this Saturday, April 7, from 11 a.m. until noon at the fire station, 50 Narragansett Ave. Dogs, cats and ferrets must be leashed or in carriers and the animal must be at least six months old.
