      Building permits Portia Little received a permit on March 27 to install three replacement windows at 33 Friendship St., work estimated to cost $1,862. Kenneth R. Silvia received a permit on March 27 to strip and replace a roof and add two feet to a deck at 61 Conanicus Ave., work estimated to cost $8,000.

      Monday, April 9 7 p.m., library, the Town Council meets. Tuesday, April 10 7 p.m., Fort Wetherill, the Conservation Commission has their regular monthly meeting. Wednesday, April 11 7 p.m., library, the Harbor Management Commission meets for their monthly session.

Fire and EMS Runs
      Fire runs 6:45 p.m., March 18, Car 1, EMS 1, and Special Services 1 were dispatched to Route 138 eastbound to search for a person in the water. 10:55 a.m., March 19, Ladder 1, Car 3, and Engine 3, responded to an unintentional smoke detector call on Narragansett Avenue.

Police
      Stolen goods arrest Ian O'Neill, 19, of 29 Clarke St., was charged March 29 with receiving stolen goods. An April 13 court date is scheduled at Newport District Court, police said. Suspended license David M. Wilson, 27, of 105 Lonsdale Ave., Pawtucket, was stopped for speeding on Route 138 and charged with driving with a suspended license, according to police.
