Free bus ride to health fair in Newport The Jamestown Medical Fund is sponsoring free transportation to the Newport Hospital Health Fair, this Saturday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. A bus will make two trips to the fair from the parking lot at the Portuguese American Citizens' Club- at 8:30 a.m. and again at 9:30 a.m., with two return trips planned for later in the day. The University of Rhode Island's library gallery will showcase, "25 Years of Dragonfly," a display of bookbinding restoration, which runs through April 26. The display features a collection of work by George and Pat Sargent, who have operated their full service hand bookbindery, Dragonfly, for 25 years. Kudos to Boy Scout Troop 1's Zack Volpe who passed his Eagle Board of Review on March 22 and is now an Eagle Scout. The 18-year-old attends Landmark School in Beverly, Mass. M. Marjorie Moran, 84, of Pemberton Avenue, died Sunday, April 8, 2007 at home. She was the wife of the late Arthur "Cliff" Moran. Born in Jamestown, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Serpa) Matoes. Mrs. Moran worked for several Jamestown businesses before retiring.
