Jamestown student art on display in Newport

The Jamestown School will join other schools from the East Bay Region in the celebration of Youth Art Month with an art show at the Newport Art Museum. This annual statewide event infuses student artwork into the community to broaden public awareness of the importance of art in school.

The month long celebration continues until April 19 with a show of works created by student artists. The following students are recognized for their accomplishments from Lawn school:

Grade 5 - Time Capsule by Madeline Brown; Printmaking by Ben Stewart; Self-Portrait by Sarah Bonnot.

Grade 6 - Wash-off Painting by Sydney Pazera; Peace Poster by Rosibel Kurz.

Grade 7 - Repousee by Zachary Henning; Coil Pot by Kelsey Britto; Portfolio Cover by Jacob Gomez.

Grade 8 - Miniature Masterpiece by Lili Flour; Wire Pig by Casey Brown.

Join in the celebration, visit the gallery and share in the accomplishments of island children.

All events are free and open to the public. Newport Art Museum, School of Art Studio is located at 76 Bellevue Ave., Newport.
