Help with Earth Day cleanup
Jamestown's annual Earth Day shoreline cleanup will take place this Saturday, April 21.
Volunteers should meet at the community center at 8:30 a.m. Breakfast will be provided beginning at 8 a.m. Organizers will assign teams to clean up all of the island's publicly accessible beaches.
Patrick Driscoll of the Conservation Commission is chairing this year's events. He said all volunteers should remember to wear work clothes and bring work gloves. Volunteers with pickup trucks are also needed.
The annual cleanup is co-sponsored by the Conservation Commission and the Conanicut Island Land Trust. The land trust will provide a hot dog lunch for all volunteers.
