Baseball opens this weekend at Lawn fields

Jamestown Baseball will hold its annual opening day ceremonies this Saturday, April 28, starting with the traditional baseball parade.

All Instructional League players should report to the Fire Station, in uniform, at 8:30 a.m. All other players should report in uniform to the Community Center at 8:30 a.m. The parade, which starts at 8:45 a.m. sharp, will travel up Narragansett Avenue and then right on to Lawn Avenue. Once at the ball fields, there will be opening ceremonies followed by team pictures.

The Instructional and Rookie leagues will play some short games. Any parent who has not yet been contacted by a team manager should call Tony Rafanelli at 423-3953. Parents please note that all players, in all age groups, are responsible for buying their own batting helmets.

Additionally, Jamestown Baseball is asking all baseball families to consider supporting the Jamestown Rotary May Breakfast this Saturday, from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Lawn Avenue School. This is a great way to have a fantastic breakfast before taking part in the baseball parade and opening ceremonies. Jamestown Baseball would like to thank the Jamestown Rotary for its support and encouragement. Last year the Rotary breakfast proceeds paid for the new scoreboard at the Lawn Avenue fields.
