A real spring fest

Saturday night memories of the USO and Big Band era came to life at the PAC Club thanks to Joe Medeiros, president of the Holy Ghost Society.

The Jamestown Community Band, under the direction of Katherine O'Neill, played swing favorites such as Glen Miller and Duke Ellington and many more.

Refreshments were served on a continuous basis at the table.

As the fog rolled into the island under the colorful lights and disco ball, things were swinging along and dancers danced the night away. Everyone sang and clapped along with this wonderful music.

During intermission, a young man played the piano and no doubt he is destined for a great musical future.

The presentation of the flag, National Anthem, and Armed Forces salute is a reflection of what a great country we live in.

Thank you for such an enjoyable evening.

Shirley A. Dean
